The semicircular green platform hides the lower level which is part of the ancient church. The bar is all on one level with circular holes cut out of it. Bar men, Bar maids and musicians, standing in the holes, are on a lower level than the public, who look down on them. The relationship between barman and public, with barman usually in an authoritarian position above the customer, has been turned on its head. This leads to lively and festive atmosphere.
