Two children play ball in the garden, within a circle without turf.
This is an idealized circular space from which all unessential elements have been removed; the equilibrium created by the game in some way compensates for the missing surface at the centre. The children throw the ball as if it were an electron within the atom and every time the ball flies out of the circle, energy is lost.
